Thumbs up to USA Hockey... men and women.

The Olympics are over, no more 8 hour marathon viewing of 'curling' on CNBC (yay)... but no more hockey either. Sunday's gold medal game had the US coming up short in a 3-2 overtime loss to the wicked heavy favorites, the Canadians (not to be confused with Montreal's infamous Canadiens, hehehe).

A quick word about a men's team that went undefeated until the final round, who never trailed until the final round, who beat the unstoppable Canadians earlier in the tournament against all good reason... hold your heads high. Sure the last game was a loss... go figure: (four-on-four hockey) + (more room on the huge Olympic ice) + (Sidney Crosby) = (what the hell did you think I'd equal)

Just because you lose, that alone does not make you a loser. Everyone played their top game, everyone pushed harder when they hit their own personal brick wall, and most importantly, they never gave up (tied the game with 17 seconds left? nope, no giving up with those guys).

Team USA had 17 newcomers to the Olympic team out of the 23 allowed on roster, so the experience alone makes me think that the future of USA hockey is looking brighter than ever. Yay for the Olympics!!!!!!
