Word of the day

Today's word is FAWN.

Fawn [FAWN] verb:

1: to show affection - used especially of a dog

2: to court favor by a cringing or flattering manner

Example:
Once he released her from the position she was holding to greet him at the door, she fawned over him to show him how excited she was to have him home for her to please and spoil the rest of the evening.

Did you know?
Some people will be glad to learn the origins of "fawn"—and there's a hint about the word's etymology in that declaration. Middle English speakers adapted an Old English word meaning "to rejoice" to create the verb "faunen," which shifted in spelling over time to become "fawn." That Old English word, in turn, derives from "fagan," meaning "glad." "Fagan" is also an ancestor of the English adjective "fain," whose earliest (now obsolete) meaning is "happy" or "pleased." If we follow the etymological path of "fawn" even further back, we arrive at an ancient word that also provided Old German and Old Norse with words for "happy."

I love this word, it has always been one of my favorites Today was sorta sucky but ya know I made the best of it and didn't bite anyone at work and just bit my tongue a lot and made it through the day, although it was super long lol. I hope everyone has a great Independence day holiday tomorrow and if you have Friday off to...fuck you! I'll be at work draggin ass since I won't be going to bed until close to or after midnight. Oh well it'll be worth it since I'll finally get to see my for a bit tomorrow evening and night. I've missed her. Have a great night y'all

I, myself, like this word. It's one of those few opportunities you get to use a small word in place of larger words or many words.

I feel you on the Friday thing. I took off, because I know I couldn't handle being there with the other 7 or 8 sad sacks that didn't want to squander any time off. I don't have much time on the books myself. But I'll be damned if I'm going to sit there on a day like Friday's going to be. AND, my wife's off too? Fuck that shit. I'm staying home, saving gas, not wearing drawers, not going anywhere near the front door of my house.

Hahaha Deft, yeah it was pretty hard to be there and my brain had definitely slept in and I was not there mentally but I made it through. It was actually busy where I work, but all week had been like that. But the count down has begun, actually it began a week or so ago lol. I leave for a nice vacay in 4 days! Anytime away from work is a vacay in my opinion cuz I have a few people I work closely with that our personalities just don't mesh well. Hope your holiday weekend and time off is going great!
