why do you do it?

so we go out me, you and him. For weeks I have told you about him, how i feel and what i want from him. So, what do you do? you have this idea, we should all go out just the three of us.

 Sorry to hear your "friend" is such a bitch! I wouldn't have thought you'd be too shy to communicate your interest to a guy, but at least you didn't embaress yourself by getting into a "suck up" competition with your friend. I assume the guy in question is blind or your friend is Angelina Jolie.

lol, I guess you wouldn't be! Sorry, I was just being the devil's advocate: it doesn't sound like you told these people how they've upset you and keeping quiet is a choice; we might feel obliged to make that choice by social convention, but we still choose whether or not to comply. After all, your friend didn't allow herself to be restricted by the social convention of not behaving like a total bitch...
