 I have 2 portable hardrives, which i lent to friends and they have come back with issues. All the folders I had on these drives are showing as short cut links not propper files. Thgis does not allow me to access files even though when i interigate the drives they tell me they are full of information??

Any ideas???

Hmm, did they attach the drives to Macs?

Have you tried checking the drive for errors? Open up My Computer and right click on the drive in question and click on Properties, then Tools, then Check-now in Error-Checking.

Also, after that, you might want to check the drives for viruses. Right click on the drive in My Computer again and look for 'Scan with...' and your anti-virus name.
