Lift me up in your thoughts...
Lift me up in your thoughts... I was told yesterday that my mother has breast cancer. My mother is an alcoholic who found sobriety 2 years ago, she has been doing great until she got the news from her doctor yesterday. When I spoke to her last night, she was clearly intoxicated...a double blow for me. Today has really sucked. Since I was so consumed the last 2 weeks with caring for my friend's horses, I haven't even had time to decorate my home for Christmas. My helped me drag out all the boxes today, but I just couldn't get myself in a festive mood. Everything seemed different today. My mother lives an hour away and it's worrying me that I can't be closer, especially now that she is ill. Please remember my mom in your prayers, her name is Jean. I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done. ~~~~Lucille Ball |

Mom got the news yesterday that she'll have to undergo a mastectomy. Leave it to her to see something positive about it. She told me she was excited about having reconstructive breast surgery. At 71 years old, she said she'd finally have the firm perky boobs she'd always wanted. lol I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done. ~~~~Lucille Ball

Thank you for including my son in your thoughts. He is concerned for his grandmother, but he also knows she is a tough lady...must be where I get it from. lol I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done. ~~~~Lucille Ball

Bless you all for all the kind words and caring thoughts. Mom had a lumpectomy Wednesday, the Doctor said if the pathology report comes back positive on Monday that he'd have to do a Mastectomy. I spent the night with her last night and she is being very upbeat considering what she's facing. Mom starts radiation therapy after the holidays. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done. ~~~~Lucille Ball

I know how you feel. I lost both my parents to cancer years ago. And, they lived ~1800 miles away from me. Not a good feeling, for sure.
