no shades of grey - must be black and white
There can be no shades of grey
everything must be black and white
there can be no days of mourning
everything must be bright Springtime morning
no tears and no words of argument said
united and fused in opinion and love till dead
we must love with unalloyed fervour
for today and tomorrow and forever
and there will be no bad hair days
no fashion choices for which world pays
only perfection and sheer sensual delight
a knowing every word and action is perfect and right
they would have us as Romeo and Juliet
or frame us as Montagues and Capulet
we must love or hate and hold or cast away
we cannot live and love in shadows of the day
no in-between for us when we begin or end
total devotion or else our relationship rend
coarse words never ever may be spoken
or else a sign all love deep in us is broken
the tired useless lost anger of weary souls
the screeching arguments loud as gulls
you can be an angel only once
never allowed in relationships to bounce
either true love to your one and only
or all declarations you said and acted called phony
there can be no shades of grey
only the clear defined black and white
when first you kiss must be forever right
a kiss and embrace cannot be for just a night
and love cannot move from one to another
for those watching be such a bother
to observe as you try and find your true one
such exploring the world will not condone
and if in loving your days grow painfully long
find the ties between no more stand strong
then why should you not move from black and white
try and find a true relationship which is right
and sometimes in the midst of chaotic hate
cast your bruised soul on great river of fate
dare to kiss the one you really shouldn't
enjoy the moment when many wouldn't
bathe in sharing love and sensual embrace
passion and lust and wanton loving chase
only once we live and living should mark
attempts at joy and to find our true spark
and if you find yourself shouting in the night
and everything is not perfect or right
give the reflective hours break till noon arrives
see how your thoughts align and heart survives
perhaps this is a passing passion of learning
of how to be with the one for whom you have been yearning
taste the salt of tears on face of this bittersweet lover
perhaps in opening up you will both better discover
what sets you two apart and together could bring
what actions and thoughts makes heart rise and sing
There can be no shades of grey
the world and the them would say
Everything must be black and white
and yet only you can know if this is right
if the relationship in which you live
is the one to your life-time you should give.

I'm, trying, to learn to love the way I wish without fear of judgment. But,then, there's stories such as this on the internet, and I lose a little more hope in humanity.
