From here to eternity

So a funny 24 hours, one minute you are ok and the next you are flat on your back in hospital wishing you had put some knickers on, just as your mother had always warned you about, although I think the word clean had been banded about, I just thought any knickers at that point should have been appropriate, social etiquette has never prepared me for the ‘going commando’ scenario. Anyway finding myself unexpectedly on a stretcher in hospital having a very bizarre conversation with a lovely consultant from the Lebanon (apparently the kebabs in this town would cause his mother’s grave to burn!!!! Which I thought was over exaggerating a little, we the British are a little more circumspect than that and we just turn in our graves!! Far more refined) anyway I digress....

So the coil I had previously had fitted had become ‘unstable’ and had pierced my cervix, I think the words pain, tears and eyes were vastly under represented and the removal of it where you couldn’t peel me off said hospital light fitting became akin to a Greek tragedy (I would say Lebanese but I think Greek is far more dramatic) I think the fact a little bit of metal had pronged free and then embedded itself into me was probably the reason . Never has the words spread and relax been so inappropriate! So here I am in the hospital with an arm full of iv antibiotics with loads more to come!! The real kicker is they react really badly to sunshine and alcohol, so for my birthday tomorrow (aaaarrrrghhhh) not only can I not celebrate with a small alcoholic champers, but I can’t sit in the beautiful garden either..... looking forward to being discharged to enjoy a cup of tea..........

 As they say ; " Here's hoping for a speedy recovery !!! " During the summer months , I never worry about trip too hospital or doctor and being Commando It;s not like they haven't seen a variety of different things anyway !!!
I would write the words too , " Happy Birthday Too You " and NOT sing it because my voice would probably CRACK HE SCREEN
