Sixty-four percent of women say they would rather be with a man who is poor and attractive than rich and unattractive.
That's just one finding in the recent Woman's Day-AOL survey, "What we wish men knew," an in-depth look at what today's women think about the opposite sex, intimate relationships, and what they really mean when they say they're "fine."
Woman's Day and AOL surveyed more than 1,500 women nationwide and found:
Women want men to help out around the house by:
Taking out the trash, 31 percent
Cooking, 30 percent
Doing laundry, 23 percent
Not bothering; 16 percent say they'd rather do chores themselves.
What do women want in a husband?
64 percent say that would rather be with a man who is poor and attractive than rich and unattractive.
54 percent would rather marry a man that makes them laugh, such as actor Will Ferrell.
10 percent would prefer to marry a man who has washboard abs, such as Matthew McConaughey.

What I miss most, what I long for the most, isn’t the orgasm. Surely I do enjoy the climax, the culmination of passions and sensual lust with the spewing forth of my juices. But more to the point, that release into a special woman. However, this is not what I miss the most.

Last night, as I sat watching TV with my brood, I felt it coming on. I was feeling more tired and more fatigued as the night wore on, though I hadn�t done anything real demanding all day (save for the position of single dad). Just sitting there, I almost fell asleep. It was all I could do to tell each of my to bathe, brush teeth, and get to bed. I think I read to my boys.
Today, similar. The thermostat is set to 74F, and I�m wearing a sweater. I have aches all over, and I�m fatigued.
Not now! The amount of time left with my can be measured in days, if not hours. It�s half-price day at the zoo tomorrow. At the end of the week, I have a thousand-mile round trip.
Pizza tonight. I�ll get them to bed and myself there shortly after. Do I have to do dishes or laundry?
A girlfriend would come in handy right about now.

I’ve been away from the gym too long. It’s not like they have stopped charging me for a membership. But I let the things of life distract me, and then it became easier to find excuses to stay home. It was simpler to relax in the recliner and watch TV.
My will be back with their mom in a week. Then, I can regain my status as a ‘bachelor” (for all intents and purposes). I’ll start with the treadmill and stationary bike. And I’ll definitely put some real miles on my bicycle. I’ll see if there are any rallies still around here. I’ll see when the yoga class is scheduled. Then lifting weights to get what muscle I have toned. The best part is the hot tub!

Since I have a lot of time on my hand (ie: I have no significant other in my life), I do have quite a collection of artistic nudes and soft-core. Fantasies aren’t a bad thing on a quiet night, are they?
But then I have an occasional pity party, oh woe is me, and I wonder why I don’t have a girl in my life. And the nudies are a positive, attractive thing to a girl? Oh yeah, that’ll win points.
It’s a circular argument: loose the nudes to gain a real girl ‒ hold onto the pics while I don’t have a girl…
I suppose it depends on the girl.

Burning bridges must be done with excruciating care and should be avoided if at all possible.
It seems that as I've gone forward from the 'big D' I've met one or two girls. But somehow I've managed to mess up those potential relationships, one way or the other. Feelings got hurt and I doubt that I could make things better. I wish I could. If nothing else I could call one of these ladies up on a quiet Friday night and see what's on TV.
Would flowers help?
