I found a corporate photo of the monkeys!

Apparently, the TOU has changed and photos of animals doing mundane things, such as Swans swimming on a lake, or a raccoon peeping out of a hollow tree are no longer allowed.

Things have settled down a bit here in the wilds of Kansas City. The and DIL have worked out their issues, my Aunt was buried where she wanted to be buried in the family cemetery, and the wheel in the sky is still turning.
We took a little road trip to Squaw Creek to see the return of the Eagles and the Snow Geese. The marshes are very dry, so while there are scores of eagles and hawks, the numbers of waterfowl are down greatly. It was a good trip nonetheless, so if the powers that be will let me post photos today, I will share a bit of my day spent out in the midst of the good earth.

Maine-May 2006

Has a way of sneaking up on me. I will be writing in a few days, but at the moment I am dealing with life. My Mother just lost her only sister, my and his wife are having some issues, and I am 1100 miles a way trying to cope with not being of any help at all to anyone.
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round...when they stop I will be back. Shouldn't take too long, no worries. There really isn't anything I can do about any of it, I am just chasing my own tail for a minute.

Happy Shopping to those of you who are going out into the madness. I am going to do what I usually do, wait till two days before Christmas and then try to get it all done in a day. I like a challenge.

She was in my yard, when I lived in Idaho. She stripped all the bark from the young trees and the willow, took a nap under the swing, crapped all over the place, and then got pissed at the dogs for barking at her and held me hostage in the house for almost an hour. Ingrate!

I know that given the fact I have bitched about snow and winter for as long as I have been on this site this will be a little hard to believe, but I really would like to see a deep white snow right about now.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much, it has been crazy busy in my life and sadly, my muse is on vacation or something. But I should be back come Monday or Tuesday.
I am counting my blessings today, and who would have thought I would be counting these blogs and all the wonderful bloggers I have been privileged to come to know here? I am very thankful for each and everyone of you here, for your friendship and your camaraderie over the years. I hope this day finds each of you with more blessings than you are able to count.

Temple of the Lake Goddess - Bedugul Bali, Indonesia.
Photographer: Byron Yu

Built in 1663, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu.
The temple also contains a statue of Buddha.

Look at that, two different religious principals being worshiped in the same shrine.
Most excellent.

Upper Antelope Canyon-Page, AZ. Photographer: Angiolo Manetti

The title of this blog is the Navajo name for this place. Translation? "The place where water runs through rocks". It is a part of the Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, so you can only visit by appointment. It is a sacred and holy place to the Navajo.

I love the way the light caught, giving the dust motes the appearance of a ghost taking form.

After Ganpati Festival Photographer:Sanjay Kewlani

"Ganesha Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is the Hindu festival celebrated on the birthday (rebirth) of Lord Ganesha, the of Shiva and Parvati." From: Wikipedia

It is a drizzly gray day here. My plans for the day are gone with the rain. But I did manage to get some work done, mulching and raking. And even though it is late, I planted some spring bulbs in a small corner with my rose bush. So the entire weekend wasn't a wash, really.
But I really am bummed about the rain, I wanted to take my camera out today. So really, I am a very pouty bitch right now, lol. I might blog a bit later on, if my humor improves.
But if it doesn't, I thought I would take the time to share some of the photography of others that made me smile, think, or feel a deeper emotion than the surface projects. These other people are very much like teachers to me. I see these amazing photos, noting angles and light, perspective and backgrounds, and applying that to my shots. I am in no way as talented...yet.
But I do think that someday, somehow, I will get there.
